MILE SWIM - Sunday, August 3 - 11:00 AM
Participants will start from the dock on Vaananen’s island. They will take a boat there themselves. Gord and LuAnne Bailey will start the kids from the Vaananen’s dock. They will call the instructor on the main dock to announce when they are starting. A list of participants are given to the Bailey’s. The Bailey’s will honk a horn to let spectators know they have begun. Participants 15 and under start at 11 am. Adults start at 11:05am. Trophy presentations to follow. *Don’t forget about categories where swimmers may participate with support. See program for details.
All swimmers must be accompanied by a spotter, not a power boat. The spotter must be capable of helping the swimmer if they become distressed and need help. Participants age 15 years and under need to notify the swim instructors, Mia and Hazel of their intentions. Swimmers do not have to qualify for the swim. Adult members (16 and over) notify the organizers the morning of the event.
Swimmers who would like to participate with the aid of a flotation device are welcome. They will not qualify for trophies.
